BOND, James Cecil, died peacefully on January 1, 2014, following an extended illness. Born in Detroit on September 9, 1942, Jim lived for several years in Chicago and El Paso before making Tampa his home in 1979. After serving in the Air Force, Jim spent his career as a special agent with U. S. Customs. Jim was a man of action and many talents and was generous throughout his life toward family, friends, or anyone in need. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife of 33 years, Joyce Dabbs Bond; son Michael (Angie) grandchildren Alex, Gregory, Philip and Chelseigh; brother John Lang (Helen), Laura (Malik), Lydia, Leyla; and family members Richard (Billie), Cindy, Warren (Erin), Gary, Darrell (Jamile), Eric, Mark, Dennis, Julia and Ryan Lee. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, at Bayshore Baptist Church chapel, corner of MacDill and Morrison. The family will receive visitors at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Bushnell National Cemetery at a later date.
