Jennifer helped me through my mother´s death as a high school senior. We met years later and it was like time hadn´t changed anything. One of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Thank you, Jennifer, for all you did for me.

My heartfelt thanks to all of the family members of Jennifer for sharing her with "thousands" of students at RHS over the years. As you know her compassion, support, nurturing ways and patience in guiding us as teenagers resulted in our lives being enriched forever. I will continue to hold you in my heart Ms. Buttles...thank you for being an important person in my life!

I was so saddened to hear of Mrs. Albritton's passing. I had her for English my senior year. I remember we had a project to re-write a fable in our own words, illustrate it & bind it with contact paper to make it an "official" book. She wrote such a special note in the book when she graded it that it brought tears to my eyes. I still have that book (17 yrs later) & her note that meant so much to me. She was a wonderful teacher & great person. She will truly be missed.

I was so very sad to hear of Ms. Albritton's passing. She was my Debate teacher my Senior year at RHS in 1986. I remember coming in from lunch for Speech and Debate class and it was announced over the loud speaker that the space shuttle had exploded. We spent the entire class discussing the event. She was not only a wonderful teacher, but she really cared about her students. I had the good fortune of running into her a few years ago at the mall, and even after over 20 years, she knew exactly who I was. She never forgot a face or a name. She will be missed, and SOG will not be the same without her.

I met Jennifer during the summer of 2004 when my daughter Madison enrolled in the I.C.E. Writer's summer camp at IDS under The Tampa Bay Area Writing Project. This summer will be Madi's 8th year, all because of Jennifer's wonderful vision of offering children a relaxed and fun place to share the written word. The moment I met Jennifer I noticed both her endless energy and positive attitude. She had a great love for writing and shared this with all of her students. They truly adored her and her presence will be missed by her I.C.E. Writer campers, teachers and parents. This past summer Jennifer co-directed the camp with Ms. Tedra, who will now continue with I.C.E. Writers in her honor. Jennifer Albritton's vision will continue through the lives of those she has already touched and future writers in years to come.

Ms. J. Albritton was awesome! She was nice but she was firm and she made you work! I had her for English Honors in h.s. and then again for Speech at HCC on the MacDill Campus. She'll be missed terribly! (RHS c/o '92)

Jennifer (Sha-Sha) was my English teacher, my mentor, my colleague, my fellow writer, my friend. I feel as if nothing can really capture, truly, how amazing she was and how far-reaching her influence has been. The closest thing I can offer is a poem I wrote for her birthday in '02:
"Jennifer"
Your name reminds me of purple--
the pigment of rose petals,
the soft-shaded shadows of hurt,
the hue of life's passions,
the nobility of sacrifice.
I imagine you in the amethyst
garden of your life,
surrounded by blooms that were nurtured
by your loving hands,
holding the weeds at bay
while delicately navigating the thorns.
Your name reminds me of sanctity
and strength--
a woman who runs with wolves,
who can hear the fluttering of
angels' wings...
who can turn pain
into faith that will not fail.
(May she rest in peace. May we keep her memory alive. My thoughts and prayers to her family and to all those experiencing this loss. She will be deeply missed.)

First impression of Ms A was she was a meany and that you really didnt want her for a teacher-well she definately was the total opposite, she wanted every student to thrive, because I knew her at RHS when I attended HCC @the MAFB campus I had her for speech and debate (hated that class) she knew I was fearful of speaking in public and helped me thru that course. Since then has spoke w/my kids about excelling in school and if they needed any help to come to her, we even planned for them to attend her writing course this summer.....SOG has lost a wonderful woman, teacher mentor and friend.

I am an old friend from Robinson HS and USF, a fellow NFL student, and we were in adaptive P.E. together. We were a small group but we learned very much about each other. She was always mature beyond her years, and I always admired Jennifer for her wit and intelligence. I never doubted that she would be a good teacher, and I am touched to see how many remember her. I wish we had been given the opportunity to reconnect more recently. We would have had much to talk about. She was very proud of her nephews, and I believe I last ran into her with her Mom, whom she loved very much. I will never forget what she looked like, her voice, and her laugh. My sympathies to her family, especially to her mom and Mike.

Dear Michael,Sylvia and family,
I was saddened to read of Jennifer's death. I will always remember her for her compassion, her optimism, and the strength with which she met the medically problems in her life. She never seemed to let those problems get her down. She loved life and her family and was so proud of her nephews. Her legacy of love and teaching will not be forgotten by anyone who ever knew her.
My sincerest sympathy and prayers go out to all of you.-Yvonne Gonzalez
