SHIDELER, Joan Brookshire, passed away July 25, 2013. Born in Fresno, California, she lived in Tampa for 20 years. A graduate of UCLA, she enjoyed careers in education and real estate. Her family and faith were her first priorities. She was married to her dear husband Frank for 52 years and with his career they lived in many locations, including California, Italy, South Carolina, and Florida. She and Frank embraced everywhere they lived, traveling and becoming involved in their communities. In Tampa, she was past President of PEO Chapter T and Azalea Garden Circle and volunteered to tutor others in English as a second language. A devout Christian Scientist, her great faith in God directed every thought, word, and deed. She was known for her grace, joy, and beauty on a foundation of great strength. Her grandchildren adored her, and she always had new ways to keep them entertained with arts and crafts, outings, and card games. Her passions included gardening, travel, and cooking. She is survived by her husband Frank; her daughter, Kristan Evans and her husband, Kent Evans; her daughter, Kimberly Kalaydjian and her husband, Dikran Kalaydjian; her grandchildren, Palmer Evans, Syran Kalaydjian, and Raffi Kalaydjian; and her sister, Carol Wright. A memorial will be held, Wednesday, July 31st at 10 am at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 South MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609.
