John Charles McElhinney

MCELHINNEY, John (Jack) Charles, passed away June 4, 2015 in Lutz, FL. He was born Oct 29, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Pamela McElhinney and their combined families of 3 children William McElhin-ney, Kimberly Lovins and Annette Baer; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 29 nieces and nephews all of whom he knew and loved very much. Also siblings, Mary Jane Sanadi and James Russell McElhinney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Margaret Russell and James Calvin McElhinney; his 1st wife, Nellie Rae Campbell; and daughters, Alice McElhinney, Lorie Dunn and Tamera Lynne Curtis. Jack spent his childhood in Morning Sun, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa U, served in the US Air Force and the Korean War. He had business ventures in Burlington, IA and Princeton, IL with dealerships in real estate and motorcycles and a space in the merchandise market in Chicago, IL. Jack and Pam retired to Lutz, FL where Jack continued his hobbies of rendezvousing, hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He led TV fishing tours to Canada and Central America. They traveled to Greece, China, Japan, Thailand, Africa, and trekked in Napal. Jack will be happily remembered by all he entertained in his 23 year tenure as the West Shore Mall Santa Clause.
