BARNES, John M. "Jack", 78, of Tampa, entered eternity with God on Friday, June 29, 2012. Known as a 'gentle man', Jack loved his Lord, his family, and his friends with a deep and passionate spirit. Survived by his wife, Tricia; daughters, Karen Arrington; and Shirley Worsham (Ted); and son, Randal Barnes (Lori); grandchildren, Tracy Williams (Jason); Casey Kirkpatrick (Kris); Jayson Barnes; Tiffany Aswell; Tricia Drawdy (Gene); Zachary Worsham; and 10 great-grandchildren. Known by many of the children at his church as "The Candy Man," Jack was also dearly loved by the little ones (and their parents) at Carrollwood Baptist Church, Tampa. Jack graduated from Jefferson High School (class of '51) and attended Arlington Baptist Seminary in Arlington, TX, studying Ministry Education. At Gideon Baptist Church in Fort Worth, he discovered a small printing press on-site and began publishing missionary news for area churches. This led to his later career as Owner/Operator of Southprint Corporation, a commercial print/graphics firm in Tampa, for the past 37 years. Jack enjoyed work, travel, snow skiing, scuba diving, and fishing. He was also proud of his awesome antique cut glass collection and his extensive Santa collection. A memorial service will be held at Carrollwood Baptist Church, 5395 Ehrlich Road, Tampa 33625, on Friday evening, July 27, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. Tributes may be made to LifePath Hospice, 12973 N. Telecom Parkway, Suite 100, Temple Terrace, FL. 33637.
