TROY, John R., 80, passed peacefully in his sleep, Dec. 26, 2012, after a long illness. John was born in Paterson, N.J. on December 3, 1932, the son of John and Rose Troy. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris; sisters, Kathy Rinaldi, Mary Probst; children, Laura Troy, Jamie Troy, Rebecca Kalakota; grandchildren, Emily Grabowsky, Anya Kalakota, Chetan Kalakota, and Jaden Troy. John studied art in New York City and taught humor and cartooning in the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, N.J. He was an avid fisherman and taught fly fishing for the Orvis Company. Along the way he held positions in various art-related fields but focused on cartooning in 1981, authoring sixteen books of cartoons since that time. His books are known internationally. A memorial will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, at his home, 11812 Chesterfield Rd, Dade City, FL 33525, 1-3pm for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Michael J.
