WILLIAMS, John Worth Col. Retired U.S. Army, 95 of Tampa, died Tuesday January 8, 2013. He was born on January 10, 1917 in Carrollton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen B. Williams. Survived by his children Nancy Williams Major (Mack) and Worth Leroy "Chip" Williams (Lillie Pat). His grandchildren Susan Marie Major, Stephen Winton Major, Thomas Worth Williams (Ashlie), and Ashley Carol Cutting (Robert), and five great-grand children. Worth was a dedicated and much decorated veteran of our country. He joined the U.S. Army on July 10, 1940 and retired from service on June 30, 1966. During his service, he fought in WWII with Patton's Third Army at the Battle of the Bulge and in the Korean War. After retiring in 1966, he started his own battery supply business. Gardening and the Hillsborough River were his life's passions. His dedication to his family and passion for life will never be forgotten. . A memorial service will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home at 4201 East Lake Ave. Tampa 33610 on January 13 at 2:30 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
