LANGLAND, Mabel Susan, age 76, of Sebring passed away on November 11, 2012. She was born in Spring Glen, Pa. Her parents were Ralph and Susan Gilbert. She graduated from Hubley Township High School in 1954. She entered the Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1957. She was a registered nurse for over 48 years. She was employed for many years at the Harrisburg Hospital in Pennsylvania. She went to work at the state Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, Pa. prior to her retirement. She also retired from the U.S. Army Reserves where she attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after 22 years of service. She saw duty in Honduras in 1988. In 1990 she was activated and sent to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. She is survived by her husband, Ronald "Mike" Langland; three children, Gary, John, and Lori; and sister, Katie of Friedensburg, Pa. She had four step children and seven grand stepchildren. She was treasurer of the local chapter of MOAA, Reserve Officers Association, VFW, American Legion and Disabled Veterans. She will be interred in Indian Town Gap Cemetery on December 13 with full military honors. Arrangements by ICS
