She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, November 15, 1939, and lived in Hawaii for the first 11 years of her life. For the past 55 years, she lived in the Tampa/Plant City areas. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, John Maples; mother, Irene Brown; and grandson, Deputy David A. Abella. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Floyd M. Howard; sons, Floyd Jr. and Gregory (Kris); daughters, Pamela Abella (David) and Sandra Liess (Bo); nine grandchildren, Skipper, Vincent (Christie), Christina, Amanda (Brent), Leah, Kellie, Bobby, Ryan and Justin; nine great-grand-children, Kelsey, Shawn, Alissa, Alexis, Davin, Aubrey, Dylan, Maya and Jadalyn; sisters, Shirley Humphries and Linda Elliott (Greg); and brother, John Maples (Fran). Marian picked up her nickname, "Mamo" from her first grandson, David Anthony, and used it for the past 34 years. She was very active and involved with her children and grandchildren in their schooling, sporting events, cheerleading and personal lives. Her biggest battle was two heart surgeries and finally kidney failure. She fought a good fight, and spent her last few weeks with family members around the clock. A celebration of her life and memorial service will take

place, with visitation 6-7 p.m. and service at 7 p.m., May 16, at the First Baptist Church in Plant City, followed by refreshments at the church. Mamo requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation be given to the Deputy David A. Abella Scholarship Fund c/o Sandra Liess, 2602 W. Sam Allen Road, Plant City, FL 33565. The family will have a private burial at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Condolences may be left at www.
