STAMATAKIS, Mark Owen, was born March 4, 1941, and passed away November 29, 2012. He was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Pre-deceased by his father, Damianos Stamatakis; and mother, Ione Woodall; brother, George Stamatakis; and daughter, Kathy Stamatakis. Survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Darlene Stamatakis; and his children, daughters, Jandi Coakley (Kevin), Sandy Cooper; and son, Scott Stamatakis; sister, Helen Diaz; grandchildren, Tyler, Piper and Bryce Coakley, and Shelby,Chad and Ryan Cooper and 2 great-grandchildren. Retired from US Air Force in 1963, and went on to join Tampa Police Dept and retired in 1981, as a Detective Sergeant in Homicide. After leaving the police dept, he became the owner and operator of 2 Pinch-a-Penny retail pool supply stores for 20 years, after which he retired into yet another career with Publix Supermarkets, where he was employed at the time of his passing for 11 years.
