ABEND, Marvin "Tex", 62, born in Galveston, Texas, left this earthly life on Feb 22, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Mary Abend. Tex was a Viet Nam combat veteran and a member of Millwrights Local 1000 for over 40 years. He passed into heaven at home in Hazelhurst, Ga., surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; sons, Marvin, Jr. (Jessica), Tristan, and Jeffrey; daughters, Lola Vargas (Roger) and Jessie Cordero (Jason), and grandchildren, Jacob and Ryan Abend, and Arion, Aidan, Anjali, Alize', Tori, Conner, Maliya and Layla. He leaves behind his brother, Al (Susie) and sister, Sara Romeo (Walter). Our family will never forget his kindness and sense of humor. Tex was loved by all who knew him and was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. The family wishes to express thanks to Larry Busch, his loyal friend for years, for his dedication to Tex in his final days. Services will be held at the Riverhills Church of God on Thursday, February 28. The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. with services immediately following. A celebration of Tex's life will follow the service. Words of comfort may be expressed at blountcurryterraceoaks.com
