MYLES-BROWN, Mary Equilla, a native of Florida and a resident of Tampa for 68 years, passed away June 26, 2013. She attended Hills-borough County Public Schools, graduating with the Middleton Senior High School Class of 1963. She was a graduate of Bethune-Cookman College, with a B.A. degree in Sociology. Mary was an Educator with the Neighborhood Service Center-Child Development Center, Tampa, Florida; Norfolk Public School System, Norfolk, Virginia; and Hillsborough County School System, Tampa, Florida. Additionally, she taught in Charlotte, South Carolina. She retired from Alexander Elementary December 2010 after 42 total years of teaching. She was baptized as a young child at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish precious memories: her mother, Inez Battle Myles; sisters, Hazel Myles Manning, Jacqueline Myles (Charles) Myers and Darlene (Wallace) Wright; aunts, Ira Davis, Maple Walker, Kate Wells and Mary Alice Myles; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will take place Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 2002 North Rome Avenue. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
