ROSSETER, Mary Frances, McCottery, 84, of Tampa, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013, sur-rounded by her loving husband of 62 years, Philip, daughter, Deborah, and granddaughter, Hannah. She was born on February 8, 1929, in Tampa to Maude and Ralph McCottery. She was a Great great granddaughter of Joseph P. Robles and Mary Ann Garrison, a pioneer family of Tampa. She graduated from Hillsborough High School, class of 1947, a member of the Honor Society. After briefly attending The University of Tampa she worked for Tampa Paper Company from 1948 until 1955, as a secretary. In later years she served as secretary of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. In addition to her family she is survived by grandson, Alexander Lowe, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lunsford and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by cousins, Walter Truitt (Cathy) of Raleigh, N.C., Alfred Short (Sharon) of Orlando, FL, Dorothy Robles Casey, Sun City, FL, and Bobbie A. Robles, of Murphy, N.C. In addition to being predeceased by her parents she also lost her youngest daughter, Sandra Rosseter Lowe, six years ago. Her love of singing in the church choir started in the 1940's and lasted through 2011. She met her future husband when he joined her church choir after returning from the Army back in 1947. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. A visitation with the family will be held from 12:30 p.m. until start time with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Seminole Heights United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Lake Carroll Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to her memory may be made to the Seminole Heights United Methodist Church, 6111 N. Central Ave., Tampa, FL 33604.
