ALLOCCA, Mildred A., 101, passed away on February 13, 2013 in Tampa, Fla. She was born on August 8, 1911 in New York, N.Y. She moved to Tampa in 2003 to be nearer to her daughter. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John "The only man in the world for her," her son John Jr., and her grandson Paul Barry and almost all of her family. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Yarnoz; son-in-law, Michael; daughter-in-law Joyce Allocca, grandchildren, Michael Yarnoz and his wife Charmaine Lewis; Cristina McIlwain and her husband Michael; and seven great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a strong woman of great faith, a wonderful and caring mother and loving grandmother. She was known as a great Bingo player, first at Grand Court then later at John Knox Village. The family would like to thank Dr. Harris McIlwain, Kimberly McIlwain Smith and Laura McIlwain Cruse for providing outstanding medical care for the last 9 years, her friends, the staff and her special caregivers on the East Wing of John Knox Medical Center for making her final years so happy and comfortable and the Lifepath Hospice Gold Team for making her last days and hours so peaceful and giving her a death with dignity. We will be forever grateful. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10a.m. on Saturday February 16, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with interment to follow in New York City.
