VIDAL, Miriam Chastain, born in Tampa on February 3, 1924, and known as MiMi to her grand-children, passed away on December 20, 2012, from a long battle of Alzheimer's disease. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Chastain; her step-father, Robert Alexander; and her mother, Marie Alexander. She is survived by her husband, Leonard J. Vidal whom she married on July 30, 1949; son, Kinsey A. Vidal and his wife, Patricia; daughter, Amanda V. Smith; grandchildren, Sgt. Jesse W. Davis, U.S.Army, Alexander L. Davis, and Ashley A. Vidal. She graduated who's who from The University of Tampa in 1948 with a Bachelors Degree with a major in English and a minor in Art. As an accomplished artist, she had many showings in art shows around Tampa including The Gasparilla Art Show and was a wonderful teacher for many years to students 8-18 years old. Miriam was a long standing member of the National League of Pen Women, a member of DIYC, loved dancing with her husband; and later enjoyed watching her husband play in the band and was never there without her sketch pad in hand to capture all she could. She was loved by all who came in contact with her and we know God has a canvas waiting for her when she arrived. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, from 4:30 PM-7:30 PM, and a funeral service on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at 10:00 AM, both at the funeral home, with interment following at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
