BROWN, Ray C., age 76, will be missed by many as he has gone to be with the Lord after passing from his extremely coura-geous battle with cancer. He was born to Raymond and Thelma (Nichols) Brown. Ray wed his one and only bride, Meredith (Merry Groleau) on August 10, 1957 in Coopersville, MI. He was an undeniable hard worker and go-getter, and as such, had many accomplishments in his lifetime. Ray loved his work, he fixed anything that was broken and improved anything that wasn't. In 1966, he began, owned and operated Model Die and Mold, Inc. which grew into a successful tool and die business in Grand Rapids, where his children and dedicated hard working employees continue to operate today. Ray was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching it on TV. Family meant everything to Ray and he will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Meredith Brown; their children, Barbara Brown (Mike Monica), Gordon (Michelle) Brown, Monica (Jeff) Neibarger, Dale Brown; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, David, Jerry, Lenny, Larry, Bobby; sisters, Margie, Marilyn, Lois, JoAnne; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday 2 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. A reception to celebrate Ray's life will follow the service.
