RAY, Robert A. "Bobby", 44, of Tampa, passed away June 26, 2012. Born in Grafton, ND, on March 21, 1968, and moved to Tampa with his parents, Robert and Connie in 1970, and although Bobby relocated several times for his education and career, he considered Tampa his home ever since. After graduating from Hillsborough High School in 1986, Bobby attended and played football for Columbia University in New York City. After a 3 year stint with the Wall Street firm Salomon Brothers, he attended the Florida State University College of Law in 1994 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997. Bobby traveled extensively across the U.S. and Europe for a number of years as a management consultant for Deloitte & Touche and opened his own law firm and title company in Tampa in 2003. Bobby always believed that friends and family were the most important part of life and that professional endeavors took a back seat. He had a healthy irreverence for convention as evidenced by the Mark Twain quote printed next to his college yearbook picture, "I never let my schoolwork interfere with my education". Bobby is survived by mother, Connie; father, Robert; sister, Jennifer; niece, Taylor; and many other loving family members and will be missed by many friends and his extended family. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be conducted 12 noon, Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Seminole Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. A memorial celebration will be held at 2 p.m. at Carmine's Seventh Avenue (upstairs) in Ybor City. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution in Bobby's honor to Bay Area Legal Services, 829 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Suite 200, Tampa, FL 33603 or to the ALS Association Florida Chapter, 3242 Parkside Center Circle, Tampa, FL 33619-0907.
