BAILEY, Robert E. "Bob", 78, of Sun City Center, passed away on April 30, 2005 at his home. Born in Cherry Hill, Virginia,. Bob served in the United State Army as a Private in WWII in Germany, then joined the Navy as a civilian. He was called from inactive duty to serve during the Korean War.. White earning his degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Southeastern University. Bob resumed his career with the Navy as a civil servant, totaling 30 years of service. He retired from the Navsea Office of the Controller in 1976 He was athe beloved husband of the late IRis Bailey, and is survived by his son Jim, wife Chris and granddaughter Erika; also by his sisters Blanche Matthews and Dorothy Thomas and many nieces, nephews, relatives, close friends and companion Imogene Ditchett. Son of the late Robert E. Bailey and Dora Oertly Bailey Rison and his stepfather, Thomas Rison and brother of the late Ruby McBride. Bob taught at the Myrtle Beach High School for several years. He was the president of the Sun City Woodcarvers Club, and active in many community organizations in Myrtle Beach and Sun City Center.
