GUYTON, Robert Edward (Bob) of Tampa passed away at 84 on April 23, 2014. He was born in Miami, FL to J. Avery and Alice Coffee as the youngest of five children. Bob graduated from Woodberry Forest School in Virginia and University of Florida as a member of Pi Kappa Phi. Married in 1961 to Elizabeth Pool (Betty Ann), they had two children. Serving in the Panama Canal during the Korean War, Bob earned the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. After college, he joined his brother John at Central Oil Company founded by their father, where Bob became President. After retiring, he founded and managed the Guyton Group. Tennis and boating were a lifelong passion. Bob was devoted to the community: serving as member of Ybor City Rotary (President 1966-1967); Boy Scout Leader; Boy Scout Gulf Ridge Council member; and Florida YPO member/ Conf. Chair. He coached girls softball at Tampa Bay Little League, helping win the Florida District 6 Title repeatedly and becoming World Series Champions. Bob is survived by his children, Robert Jr. (Sherry) and Ginny Collier (Chase); grandchildren, Robert III and Avery. The family is grateful to Hudson Manor and LifePath Hospice as well as Abbey Affordable Cremation. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church at 902 S. Orleans Ave on Sat., May 3 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. John's Church and School.
