LONG, Robert W. Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at his home on Lake June on May 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 29, 1930 in Bessimer City, NC. He was predeceased by his parents, Bertha Blanche and Robert W. Long, Sr., his first wife, Joan Wilson of Hickory, NC, and his oldest son, Eddie Long. Bob was the founder of Dallas Pillow Company making Institutional pillows and umbrella and outdoor furniture for 40 years. He moved to Lake Placid in 2008 and enjoyed fishing on Lake June until his death. He was a proud Army Veteran and served in Korea from May 1, 1951-May 1, 1953. He married Paula Long from NY in 1994. He has 2 living sons, Danny and Morris Long of Lincolnton, NC; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons, and 3 step grandchildren, all from NC. Burial will be in Lincolnton, NC on May 25, 2013. The family wants to especially thank and honor Rev. Jerry McCauley and friends from Memorial U.M.C. in Lake Placid and Tammy, Jerry, and Jeremy Strong from Sebring, FL for all their time and Tender Loving Care.
