FRATES, Sara Williamson, 92, died at her home in Miami, Florida, on April, 5, 2014. Born November 11, 1921, in Tampa, Florida, she attended Tampa schools and the Florida State College for Women, now Florida State University. She was married on June 21, 1941, to William G. Tennille, Jr., a United States Army Air Corps officer who was killed in action on June 8, 1944. On June 17, 1960, she was married to William S. Frates, a Miami attorney who predeceased her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Williamson and her son, William G. Tennille, III. She is survived by her son, Frederick S. Frates and William Frates II, John Frates, Barbara Frates Kelley, Judith Frates Meyer, Stephen Frates and Marcia Patton Frates; a niece, Susan Krissel and two nephews, Bill and Hugh Williamson; a daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Danielson Tennille; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Junior League of Miami and a flag member of the Biscayne Bay Yacht Club. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Chapel of St. Bede the Venerable located on the campus of the University of Miami at 1150 Stanford Drive in Coral Gables.
