Violet Lewis Obituary

LEWIS, Violet S., 93, of Sebring, Fla., went to be with the Lord Friday, May 6,

2011, while in the care of Good Shepherd Hospice. She was born to Howard and Sarah Spicher of Indiana County, Pa., October 18, 1917. She moved to Opa Locka, Fla., in 1952 and then to this area in 1980. She was a resident of Fair Haven where she loved to play Bingo. She enjoyed football and especially her team the Bucs. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Avon Park. She was a woman of her word and always took life to its fullest. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Clyde Lewis; her parents; and brother, George. She is survived by her daughter, Sara and husband, Jack Burroughs of Avon Park; sister, Willavene and husband, Harry Reed of Palm Harbor, Fla.; three grandchildren, Stacy, Shelby, Scott and wife, Laura; four great- grand-children; and two great- great-grandchildren; three nephews, Howard and wife, JoAnn Reed, Harry and wife, Kay and George Spicher Jr. of Michigan. A memorial service will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Fountain Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Coates officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.
