I am so sorry for your loss. We live in times that are critical and hard to deal with as described at (2nd Timothy 3:1-5). May the love and support of the community give you strength to endure. Your family and friends are in my prayers.

When you are a very proud father..and your son says that he has a Father figure in his life the usual gut reaction is jealousy...Not the case here , I am proud to have "shared" my sons education in life with you.My son has learned to help the weak, care for others, find respect for a person even when they may not deserve it.Because of you.Your wisdom and friendship will never be forgotten. Thank you Sir.!

I never had Mr. Ellis as a teacher but I remember always being late to one of my classes that was close to Mr. Ellis' class and each time he saw me running down the hall rather than telling me to not run or yell at me he would say with a smirk, "Ah, Ms. Torrano, out for a morning jog?" His sarcasm would intimidate me... it got me to stop running down the hall. I also use to enjoy watching him teach his martial arts class after school before I left for the day; he had this pleasant look on his face as if he really enjoyed what he was doing. A great loss, my condolences to Mrs. Ellis and all of his loved ones.

As i think back on the days of coming to MSA. I think of all the experiences that we shared..painting the classroom floor, signing the wall, the embarrassing hall pass...and my favorite was the Greek Olympics with the Chariot Races. Mr. Ellis you opened our eyes to what a loving and caring teacher is, and gave us some of the greatest disciple we would need for life. I hope that we all can help your family like you have helped all of us.

My dear Master Ellis.
You were an example for us all, a true master, and a true friend. You believed in us, not just for who were were, but for who we would become. I will never forget you. I will never forget how you welcomed me to your after school class, your smile when we would sword spar, and especially our long talks after class. You were man, who became a hero to a generation, so lucky to have known you. I hope that you are as proud of the life you lived as we are, and may we show our gratitude by honoring what you instilled in us while in your class. I should have visited you again. I felt it in my heart to stop by, but I was ashamed not to be back in class. Please forgive me. I will see you again, and I looks forwards to it. But until then, I will miss you. We will all miss you. Thank you, sir!

Master Ellis, it has been 3 years since i had to leave MSA to return to New England, but i will never forget you. I had always hoped to come back one day and walk into your class, but now you are just... gone. You will be missed very much. MSA will never be the same. Me and Theresa will always remember your class, and you very weird looking Six Count Push Up. Seventh and Eighth grade were great because of you. i actually almost cried when i left your "Dojo" for the last time.

God bless his soul and his family.

To me Mr. Ellis wasnt just a teacher, someone who gave you grade's in class. He was a friend who even after you were no longer in his classes would welcome you just the same as he always did. The last time I got to spend any real time talking with him he told me he loved seing me. I believed him, Because thats the kind of man he was. I also remember that when I was away at my first year of schooling and my birthday rolled around. He was one of the people who came to my surprise birthday party. I'll miss his smile and his hug, and the advice he would give to anyone who asked for it. He taught me more than tae kwon do and history, he taught me moral character; courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self controle, indmitable spirit! To the family of Mr. Ellis I am so sorry for the loss of a great man.

Mr. Ellis,
I never had you as a teacher but you were always there when I needed to ask you a question whether about history or Tae kwon do, you were a dictionary full of answers and advice and a heart full of love, honesty, and care for your students and everyone around you. You will be deeply missed Mr. Ellis and I know you will be shining down on Manatee school for the Arts every single day. There are thousands of people right now with a heart filled with hurt, denial, anger, and remorce. We all love you very much Mr. Ellis may you rest in peace and enjoy your eternal life with the lord.

Words can not describe how many lives this one individual touched. He taught and lived the words that he spoke, truly leading by example. The ending of his life was not deserved or warranted and he will be greatly respected and missed.

Master Ellis was there with us from the beginning. Implementing a program for students they may not have been able to experience elsewhere, Master Ellis always had the lookout for the students and their well being. Just remember his voice will travel on and may all of the fond memories be everlasting. AYYYYYYY YAAAA!!!!!!

Ken you were a great friend, someone to talk to. Your calm spirit and love for students could be seen daily through the way you lived your life. Thank you for welcoming me that first year. Even though I started the school year late, you were there to help me enter a world that was new to me. I have fond memories of Greek Olympics and other projects. As a colleague you taught me wonderful ways to reach my students. For that I will always remember you. You will definitely be missed.

My condolences goes out to the Ellis Family. I had the pleasure of being one of Mr. Ellis’s students at MSA 12 years ago; and I must say I had so much fun in his History class and I will never forget those “Demerits”. When I heard the news today I was truly devastated, this is such a terrible loss for everyone. Mr. Ellis you will be dearly missed by everyone that knew you. Thank you for all you did.
