KILGORE, Willie Mae "Bill," 88 of Plant City, Florida, passed away on Febuary 6, 2013. She was born in Granville County, North Carolina. She and her husband James moved to Plant City on their honeymoon in 1961. She earned her degree as a Registered Nurse from Roanoke Rapids School of Nursing. She was an OB/GYN nurse at South Florida Baptist Hospital for 17 years and completed out her career at Forest Park Nursing Home. She was a wonderful caregiver to James during her retirement years as he battled cancer. Since his death in June 2000, "Bill" has been spending time with her family speaking daily with them on her cell phone, keeping up with Sophie, the mini-doxie puppy she got this summer in N.C. and enjoying time with her only child, Annette, and all the "adopted" daughters that loved her dearly as many of their own moms had gone on to be with the Lord. She loved flowers of every kind, but roses were her favorite. Quiet and soft-spoken, strong and intelligent, she touched everyone she met. She heard many times over that she was "not your typical 88 year old!" She loved keeping up with current events via the newspaper and TV. Having grown up during the depression, she was practical and private with a very strong spirit. She was devoted to and gave her all to her daughter, other family members and friends. She will be sorely missed, but has eternity to stop and smell the roses on the streets of gold in Heaven. Loving thanks is extended to the Hospice Aqua Team, South Florida Baptist Hospital and Brandon Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Kilgore; and siblings, Adelle Townsend, Shirley Murray, Johnny Murray Thomas Murray, J.B. Murray, and Oscar Murray. She is survived by her daughter, Annette Kilgore; sisters, Edna "Sissie" Brooks and Betsy Hobgood (Raymond); brothers Stephen Murray (Elva) and Foy Murray; her beloved puppy, Sophie; and many other loving family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 11 at 3:00 p.m. at Hopewell Memorial Gardens, 6005 CR 39 S, Plant City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "
