CONKLE, Paul W., (89) passed away August 22, 2014, under Hospice care at The Bud and Donna Somers Hospice House in Sebring Florida. He was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio on July 3, 1925, son of the late Daniel R. and Susanna J. (Lear) Conkle. In 1943 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of the 344th bomb group serving in France Belgium and Germany. After the war ended, he married Ruth E. Wood, who preceded him in death. In 1996 he married Christina (Kay) MacEachern and she survives. Paul is also survived by his three children, Sue Cramer of Findlay, OH, Carol (Richard) Sands of Valrico, FL and Richard Conkle of Pompano Beach, FL, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three step-children, Dale Waugh of Davisberg, MI, Dan Waugh of Holly, MI, and Marlene Alexander of Seattle, WA, three step-grandchildren and two great step-grandchildren, sisters Mary King of Kenton, OH, and Catherine (Eldon) Businger of Jenera, OH, brothers Donald (Donna) Conkle of Kenton, OH and Robert (Cheryl) Conkle of McComb, OH. He was preceded in death by sister Jeanne Dunn of Avon Park, FL. Paul worked for the Findlay, Ohio Post Office and retired after 30 years, moving to Avon Park, Florida in 1982. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park, where he was an usher for over 15 years. Paul was also a life long member of The National Association of Letter Carriers and the National VFW. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26 from 5pm-7pm at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Avon Park, Florida. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 27, 10am at Our Lady Of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park, Florida. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetary in Kenton, OH.
