BOWDEN, Robert M., 76, of Lake Placid, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday afternoon, December 4, 2012, at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring. He was born in Washington, DC, on October 31, 1936 to parents, Eunice (Mason) and William T. Bowden, Jr. Robert served his country in the US Navy serving on the USS Forrestal Aircraft Carrier CV-59. He moved to Lake Placid in 2003 from Ft. Lauderdale after retiring from the transportation industry. Mr. Bowden enjoyed his ham radio, fishing, football, was an avid Dolphins fan and loved spending time with family and friends. Robert was a member and Deacon of the Eastside Christian Church of Lake Placid. Mr. Bowden was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet; son, Timothy; and is survived by his loving companion, Elinor; son, Robert Bowden (Alison); step daughters, Diane Castanien (Craig) and Susan Cosens; grandsons, Mark and Mason Bowden; and step granddaughter, Elizabeth Cosens. A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the Eastside Christian Church of Lake Placid, 101 Peace Avenue, Lake Placid, with Pastor Ray Culpepper officiating.
