MILLER, Roger Ellis, 92 of Sebring, FL died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012. He was born September 2, 1920 in McAlpin, FL, son of the late Roscoe Nigel and Lillian Jane Miller. The Millers moved to Sebring in 1921 and later to LaBelle, FL. Roger graduated from LaBelle High School (1938) and University of Florida (1946) and was a true Gator fan. During W.W.II, he served in the U.S. Navy, leaving the service as Lt. CEC USNR. He enjoyed his many years as a Civil Engineer and surveyor. He developed Lake Sebring Ridge, partnered in the development of Sylvan Shores, Lake Placid, constructed Fairmount Utilities and Sebring Ridge Utilities. Roger is a Life Member of V.F.W. Post #25, Lake Placid and a Past President of Rotary Club of Sebring, Paul Harris Fellow and a faithful member and Deacon of First Baptist Church, Sebring. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Francis and survived by his devoted wife, Peggy; and his loving children, Roger Miller, Jr., Valerie (Dean) Johnson M.D., Christopher (Pat) Miller, Karen (Joseph) Berry; and brother, Nigel (Joan) Miller; and step-children, Karen (David) Curfman and Julia Modisett; and grandchildren, Miller Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Marianne Johnson, Christopher Miller, Jr., Joshua Miller, Summer Miller, Mark Purvis, Zachary Berry, Samantha Berry; and step-grandchildren, Christine Curfman, David Curfman, Jr, Carrie Curfman, Jackie Modisett and Taylor Modisett. Visitation 3-7 pm, Thursday at Morris Funeral Chapel with Services 11 am, Friday at First Baptist Church, Sebring. Burial to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery with Military Honors. The family suggests donations to First Baptist Church, Sebring or Rotary Club of Sebring Charities Inc, P.O. Box 527, Sebring, FL 33871-0527.
