RICHARDSON, Hazen Brackett, beloved husband of Helen Hammett Richard-son, passed away peacefully on Wed-nesday, December 26, 2012, in Plant-ation, Florida. He was born April 25, 1918 in Providence, Rhode Island. He lived most of his life in Dade City, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Ellen Richardson. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen; his daughter, India Laurie, her husband William, and their five children and spouses, Blair (Bill) Jenkins, Leigh (Tom) Israel, Leslie (Mike) Wood, Claire (Tom) Crusemire, and Doug Laurie; and his son, Tim Warren, his wife Gretchen and their three children and spouses, Holly (Vince) Crow, Hamilton (Greg) Sutton, and Hillary (Matt) Garner and great-grand children Davis (Katie) and Bryn Jenkins, Clark and Casey Wood, Kevin and Alix Israel, Hunter Crow, Ayla and Cooper Sutton and Jackson Laurie. Hazen graduated from St. Leo's High School where he was a star football player. He and Leo DeRosia of San Antonio, Florida joined the Royal Canadian Air Force just before the United States entered WWII. After the United States entered the War, he transferred to the United States Air Force where he trained future pilots in radio operations. Hazen ran the family wholesale egg business until his retirement in 1983. He also sold insurance for Jefferson Standard in the 1940's, which is where he met his wife Helen. Hazen was well known for his kindness to others, and his keen sense of humor. He was a gentle man to all and will be greatly missed. Hazen and his wife Helen have been longtime members of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Dade City, Florida. Graveside services for Hazen will be held Saturday December 29, 2012 at 12 Noon in Williams Cemetery in Dade City, Florida. A special thank you to his friend and caretaker Ruth Powell who took loving care of Papa for the last five years. In addition, the family would like to thank Dr. Mario Galdames, Delia Chong, Shirley Kay Sanderson, Olga Sardinas, and Connie Wright, for their care and kindness the last three years.
