NEWTON, Donald Scott Sr., 82, of Lake Placid, Fla., died unexpectedly Saturday morning, January 5, 2013. He was a native of Ohio, born November 8, 1930. Don was the son of Ms. Nellie and Clyde Newton of Hamilton. Don entered the U.S. Navy after graduation and was a Korean Conflict Veteran. After being discharged he entered and graduated from the University of Miami with an accounting degree. He was a licensed self-employed Certified Public Accountant for many years serving Broward and Highlands Counties. He retired in 2010. Don came to Lake Placid in 1997 from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Placid serving as head usher. He was a member of the Lake Placid American Legion Post #25 and served as their finance officer. Don enjoyed golfing. Don is survived by his loving wife, Louise K. Foerster, whom he wed August 21, 1998, in Sebring, Fla.; children, Lynne Ann Nees (Michael), Sj. John, Ind., Victoria Marie Garcia (Danny), Wilton Manners, Fla., Donald Scott Jr. (Cindy), Wilton Manners, Timothy George (Melony), Longwood, Fla., Kelly Monaghan (Michael), Charlotte, N.C., Heather Dray, Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Carolyn Newton, Johnson City, Tenn.; ten grandchildren and he was blessed with four great grandchildren. Family will receive friends for a viewing from 2 through 4 p.m. Friday, January 11, at the Michael A.
