PARKER, Dallas Ted, 85 of Dade City, passed away January 28, 2013. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dade City since 1954. Mr. Parker was born in Ozark, Ala. on May 9, 1927, and was a graduate of Ozark High School, Troy University, and the University of Alabama. He was the proud grandson of a confederate soldier and a Navy Veteran of World War II who served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hornet in the pacific. The Parker family moved to Dade City in 1954 from Webb, Ala., soon after, Mr. and Mrs. Parker accepted teaching positions with the Pasco County School Board. Mr. Parker was appointed principal of Pasco Elementary School in 1957 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1981. Following his retirement from the school system, he managed and operated his orange grove until the present time. He was the seventh and only surviving child of Jodie Willie & Ann Ella Green Parker of Ozark, Ala. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 65 years, Miriam McNair Parker. He is also survived by a daughter, Ana Marie Parker Patterson of Dade City; granddaughters, Brook Marie Patterson and Kate Hannah Fisher (Alex). He was happily awaiting the birth of his first natural great-grandchild, Madeleine Marie Fisher. He is survived by a son, Alan Parker (Jeannine) of Montgomery, Ala.; grandsons, Arthur Cullifer IV of Ozark, Ala., Joseph Stuart Parker and Andrew Alan Parker of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a granddaughter, Amy Henderson (Kevin) of Tallassee, Ala., and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Dade City with his great nephew, Rev. James Howard Peter officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday evening at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or those that wish may make donations in his memory to either HPH Hospice or the First Presbyterian Church.
