DICKINSON, Patricia B., passed away on January 22, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she grew up in Springfield, Ohio and graduated from Ohio University with a BA degree in Chemistry and English. She was a technical writer at Pillsbury Research and Development Labs in Minneapolis while her husband, James, completed his doctorate at the University of Minnesota. After five years in Iowa City where daughters, Elizabeth and Carol were born, they moved to Tampa when James accepted a faculty appointment in the USF College of Education. Pat was a member of the USF Women's Club, the Chiselers, a former board member of the Home Association, and a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. She served her church in many capacities including teaching church school, Stephen Ministries, bell choir member, office volunteer, 5-terms on the vestry plus a year as senior warden. She also served on the organ committee and search committees for music directors and rectors. Pat was a lifelong tennis enthusiast who with two partners formed Baseline Management, a professional tennis consulting and management practice that included several years in charge of tennis operations at the Carrollwood Village Golf and Tennis Club. She also greatly enjoyed her book and bridge groups, but most of all enjoyed being with her family. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Violet Butterfield, and is survived by James, her husband of 54 years; daughters, Elizabeth Iten (Brian) of Bradenton, Fla., and Carol Thompson (William) of Katy, Texas; and David and Amelia Iten, her beloved grandchildren. Patricia is also survived by her brother, Edward Butterfield of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and his sons, David and William. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Saturday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception following in the parish hall.
