DIROSA, Philip, 93 of Tampa, Florida passed away on March 17, 2013. He was born in New York City to parents, Benedetto DiRosa and Caterina Mangione. A few months, after his birth, the family moved to the Tampa area. Philip served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He spent most of his life working as a sheet metal worker and enjoyed reading, attending his union meetings, and most of all spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his brother and sister, Leonardo DeRosa and Annie Scaglione; Philip is survived by his wife of 62 years, Manuela DiRosa; children, Philip DiRosa, Jr. (Aleida) and Eileen Pena (Fred); grandchildren, Nicole Schrader (Andy) and Ashley Pena; and many loving nieces and nephews. A Memorial Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 22, at the chapel of JGR Funeral Home, 6718 N. Armenia Ave., from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
