MAYNARD, Joseph Ermal, age 71 of Weeki Wachee, FL died March 8, 2013 in Nassau, Bahamas. He was born July 11, 1941 in South Williamson, KY. He retired from the United States Air Force working as an operations supervisor and technician in electronic maintenance and also worked for Federal Electronic International in Mannheim Germany as a quality control specialist; General Electric Government Services, Polygone Electronic Warfare Range, Bann Germany as electronic technician and operator; Loral Aerospace Service, Polygone Electronic Warfare Range, Bann, Germany and AHN Tech, Dugway, Utah as electronic technician. He received the Bronze Star, Air Force Commendation Medal, three Outstanding Unit Awards with the V for Valor, Presidential Unit Citation, Viet Nam Service Ribbon with 9 Campaign Stars, National Defense, six Good Conduct Ribbons, five Longevity Awards, Marksmanship Ribbon, Viet Nam Campaign Ribbon, five Viet Nam Gallantry Crosses with Palms and the Overseas Long Tour. He attended the Community College of the Air Force, Electronic Technology Air Training Command, United Air Force. Joseph loved to talk, never met a stranger, was generous to a fault and enjoyed bowling, reading, movies & music. He also attended the Church of Christ in Spring Hill, FL. He was predeceased by his parents: Ermal Allen Maynard & Gwendolyn Marie Scott Maynard. Survivors include his daughter: Kimberley Kay Drury of Weeki Wachee, FL; grandson: Christopher Shane Adcox of Weeki Wachee, granddaughter: Angelia Beth Drury of Cleveland, MS; siblings: Mary Ellen Daniels, Dolly Kiser, Major Allen Maynard & Scottie Maynard. A memorial service will be conducted 4 pm Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Church of Christ, 5456 Deltona Blvd., Spring Hill, FL 34601.
