MULLANY, Rosalie M., 88 of St. Petersburg, FL and Great Barrington, MA, died Saturday March 16, 2013 at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park, FL. She was born in Great Barrington on July 25, 1924 daughter of William and Mary Coffey Cleary. Rosalie attended local schools and was a 1942 graduate of the former Searles High School, she went on to graduate from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Pittsfield, MA. After graduation she worked at Fairview Hospital. She was a communicant and devoted member of St. Peter's Church, Great Barrington, and St. John's Catholic Church in Florida. An avid tennis player she was an active member of Wyantenuck County Club, Great Barrington, and the Yacht and Tennis Club in St. Petersburg, FL. She led an active vibrant life, enjoying travel, theater, reading and pilates. Her husband George T. Mullany Sr. DDS, whom she married on September 8, 1951 in St. Peter's Church, predeceased her on June 1, 2007. Rosalie leaves her loving family, one daughter, Dr. Mary Mullany and her husband, Charles Topham of Natick, MA, three sons, Dr. G. Thomas Mullany and his wife, Helen of Great Barrington, Kevin Mullany and his wife Mickey of Albuquerque, NM, and Joe Mullany and his wife Cori of Bloomfield Hills, MI, grandchildren, Evan and Colin Topham and Michael, Susan, Davis, Molly, Conor, Lily, Kate, and Elizabeth Mullany, and one brother William Cleary and his wife Betty of Annandale, VA. Funeral services for Rosalie M. Mullany, who died March 16, will be held on Monday, March 25, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church with the Reverend William P. Murphy, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday March 24, from 2-5:00 PM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. Expressions of sympathy in Rosalie's memory may be made to either St. Peter's Restoration Fund or to Southcoast Hospice House, both in care of the funeral home at 33 South Street, Great Barrington, MA. 01230.
