CACCAMISI, Gino J., 90 of Plant City, Florida, entered into eternal rest on March, 31, 2013. He was born on September 17, 1922, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II, and participated in the D-Day Invasion of Normandy, France, on June 6, 1944. He was awarded a LAME Theatre Ribbon with 4 bronze service stars and the Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf cluster for his bravery and service to our country. He was a dedicated member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Plant City, and of the Knights of Columbus. He was retired from and also founded Central Food Equipment in Lakeland. He loved to cook, play golf, catch crabs and fish. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara A. Varnadoe Caccamisi; sons Mark Daniel Caccamisi, and Gino Caccamisi, Jr.; siblings Mary Liberto, John J. Caccamisi, Vincent J. Caccamisi, Sam Caccamisi, Harry P. Caccamisi, and Joe Caccamisi. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tammi and Tracy Higgins of Plant City, and son Mike Tapley of Winter Haven; daughter-in-law Joanne Caccamisi of Lakeland; siblings Sarah Billions of Horn Lake, Mississippi, and brother and sister-in-law Albert and Margaret Caccamisi of Cordova, Tennessee; siblings-in-law Glen and Janice Varnadoe of Lakeland, Gene and Nan Varnadoe of Farber, Virginia; grandchildren Thomas D. Pollock of Lakeland, Gina M. Caccamisi of Lakeland, Christopher J. Caccamisi of Orlando, and Benjamin J. DeLiguori of Plant City. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 5 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 1104 N. Alexander St., Plant City, with Father Thomas Anastasia officiating.
