COX, George, 84, of Temple Terrace, FL, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Melech Hospice House. He was born on July 12, 1928 in Atlanta, GA, and was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Cox and Bessie Quattlebaum Cox. He was married to Margaret Haugdahl in Jacksonville, FL on May 19, 1951. They had four children. He graduated from University of Florida in 1950 with a degree in Education and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. George served in the Army for 2 years, a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed by State Farm Insurance as a District Manager for 39 years. George was a founding member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and member of the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed traveling, reading, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. George will be remembered by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret, and their children, Helen Townsend (Jack), Mark Cox (Kristin), Katie Neill (Chuck) and Matthew Cox. He is also survived by his three sisters, Pat Cladianos, Kathryn Hardy (Dick) and Angela Kirby (Rick); eight grandchildren, Light, Jake, Bear, Cassio, Megan, Brigette, Kathryn & Mackenzie and one great-granddaughter, Mahniya. All funeral services will be held at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, Temple Terrace. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013, and for a memorial service at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at 2 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
