MAGGARD, Donald Cooper, 66, a twenty four year resident of Tampa, Florida passed away after his courageous two and a half year battle against cancer. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Irvin and Nellie [Combs] Maggard. He received a Bachelors Degree from Berea College in Kentucky and served faithfully in the United States Air Force. He was a gentle man who worked as a manager in the hotel industry for 40 years. He loved sports but especially loved following the Dallas Cowboys. Survivors include his wife and best friend of 35 years, Candace Maggard of Tampa, FL; his sister, Eunice (Tim) Salyers of Crewe, VA and several nieces and nephews. I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks to Eunice and Ken Salyers for all of their kind thoughts, prayers, and support for Donald, throughout his life. Graveside funeral honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., today, Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
