ROBINSON, Joshua Davis, 18, left this world to be with the Lord on May 15, 2013. During his brief time with us, Joshua touched the hearts of many and accomplished far more than any one man could hope to achieve in a lifetime. Born July 6, 1994 in Omaha, Nebraska, Josh moved at age 2 weeks with his parents to Tampa where he lived the rest of his life. He had an amazing intellect and was blessed with remarkable talents in math, computers and science. This year he was a member of his school's Science Olympiad team, which placed second in Florida and went on to compete at the national competition in Ohio. Additionally he was an accomplished athlete in rowing and tennis. With his lifelong love of music and as a musician/composer, Josh expressed his extraordinary gift through his beloved piano. He won numerous musical awards and had prepared to test for his Level 9 exams with the Royal Conservatory of Music in June. His true passion was learning and helping others to learn. His compassion and caring for people knew no bounds as evidenced by his volunteer work including Students for Seniors at the Grand Court retirement community, the Metropolitan Ministries and STAND to Save Darfur. Above all, Josh loved and cared for his family and friends with the same delight with which we all loved him. He leaves behind his wide circle of friends at his schools of Tampa Palms Elementary and Tampa Preparatory. He was to attend Georgia Tech in the fall to study mechanical engineering. Josh will be forever missed by his loving family including his two brothers Schuyler and Noah; his parents Lary and Susannah Robinson; his grandparents Nancy and Lewis Dinsmore, Allen and Marilyn Holmes Langston and Joanne Robinson Leritz; his uncles and aunts Leo and Deanna Robinson, Macy and Darina Langston, Sarah and Don Cowan, Sam and Emily Colvin; and his cousins Kemilyn Robinson, Pierce, Alaina and Gavin Langston, Duren Banks, Coleman Cowan, Amy Schultz and Heather Denman. A Memorial Celebration of Joshua's life will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 412 E. Zack Street, Tampa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joshua D. Robinson Memorial Fund at Tampa Preparatory School, 727 W. Cass Street, Tampa, FL 33606.
