DIEZ, SR., Fermin J. (Papa), 88, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2013. Fermin served in the Navy during WWII as a machinist, and after discharge, continued his work with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad, both in Chicago and Tampa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Camellia J. Diez, and "Puffy", his beloved dog. He is survived by son, Joe Diez (wife, Kathy); daughter, Diane D. Saunders (husband, Mackey); and six grandchildren, Bert Saunders, Leslie Saunders, Lindsey Diez, Jason and Katie Milian, Tracey and Ted Arena, Gino Arena, Anthony Rodriguez, and Sophia Rodriguez. A private entombment will be held by the family. The family asks that everyone remember Fermin for his friendly nature with people, his readiness with a joke or funny story, and his unending devotion to his family.
