MEADOWS, Earl D., 85, of Steinhatchee, Florida, passed away on Monday May 9, 2014 at E.T. York Hospice House in Gainesville. Earl was born in Newcomb, Tennessee in July of 1928 to Ernest and Susann Meadows. When Earl was two years old the family moved to Brooksville, FL. Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Jean Meadows; his father and mother, Ernest and Susann Meadows; sisters, Glenna Goethe, Evelyn Weatherington; and brother, Jim Meadows. He is survived by three sisters, Irene Hancock of Brooksville, Helen Skinner of Jacksonville, and Pat (Bobby) Singer of Brooksville; three brothers, Bobby of Brooksville, Ronnie (Rhonda) of Dade City and Tommy (Pam) Meadows of High Springs. He is also survived by his former schoolmate and friend, Mrs. Cleo Cole. Earl owned and operated Earl Meadows Automotive Services in Brooksville. After retiring he and his wife moved to Steinhatchee, Florida. Earl was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Steinhatchee. He was an outdoorsman and avid gardener. He loved to grow and give away his produce. A veteran of WWII, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He will be greatly missed by his family, church family, and friends. Visitation and Celebration of Life will be conducted Friday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 112 15th Street SE, Steinhatchee, FL. Graveside services will be held Saturday June 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Lindsey Cemetery, 504 E Jefferson Street, Brooksville, FL. Services will be conducted by Pastor Aaron Turner. Arrangements are being made by Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs, FL.
