ARGOE, Sadie K. (Buff), affectionately known as Grandmother, was born November 29, 1916, and entered into everlasting joy on January 3, 2004, at her home. Sadie began her life in Columbia, South Carolina, where she resided until 1937 when she and her family relocated to Tampa, Florida. In 1979, Sadie moved from Tampa to Gate City, Virginia to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Argoe. Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hampton Argoe; three sisters; four brothers; and her parents, Anna and Edward Buff. Sadie is loved by her surviving family. Her four children are Rev. Paul David and Dorothy Argoe of Gate City, Va., Patricia (Argoe) Johnson of Tampa, Carlton and Barbara Argoe of Richmond, Va., and Roger and Kathleen Argoe of Tampa. Sadie also has eight grandchildren, David and Kim Johnson, Timothy and Joanna (Argoe) Spicer, Dan and Suzette (Argoe) Todhunter, Tabitha Argoe, and Jason and Patricia (Argoe) Turner. Her three great-grandchildren are Lisa Johnson, J edediah Spicer, and Caleb Spicer. Sadie leaves behind a loving church family; nieces and nephews; friends; two special caregivers, Sandra Burke and Patricia Qualls; and a host of honorary grandchildren. Also, the family appreciates the kindness shown by Dr. Wolfe and his staff, Wellmont Home Health, and Hospice. Sadie worked as a seamstress for Southern Furniture and later at Galloway Furniture in Tampa. She attended both Glad Tidings Assembly of God and Bethel Assembly of God churches in Tampa. Family and friends will meet at Hillsboro Funeral Home in Brandon at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Garden of Nativity of Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 U.S. Hwy 301 N., Tampa, on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Assembly of God Church, 116 Fir Street, Gate City, VA 24251.
