WALKER, Charles W. (Buzz), 63, passed away January 15, 2004, at his home in Sebring after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Chicago, IL, April 17, 1940. A former resident of Cape Coral, FL, he moved to Sebring in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Linda Woods, daughter, Christine Walker (Rick) Diekemper, and precious grandson, Caleb Walker Diekemper, step sons, Kevin and Jason Gettel, sister, Alice Portnoy, niece, Cathy (Steve) Duran, nephew, Mike (Vicki) Portnoy, great nephew, Robert Duran, an extended family in MI as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. & Evelyn Walker and brother-in-law Will Portnoy. With a Bachelors Degree from Southern Illinois University, Masters Degree from University of Mississippi, a PhD from Louisiana State University, Buzz truly enjoyed his 30 year career as a Geologist. He worked in the mining, petroleum, and water resources fields in New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Washington, and Florida. Cremation arrangements entruste d to the National Cremation Society.
