WINTER, John David, 39, of Lithia, Fla., entered into rest April 5, 2007. John spent most of his adult life in the Tampa Bay area and was our friendly weatherman on Channel 8 for the last 13 years. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas and had also earned a degree from the American Meteorological Society. He was a Methodist by faith. John is survived by his wife of six years, Karen Winter; father, Jack Winter and wife, Grace; mother, Albina Schuster and husband, Ken; paternal grandmother, Kathryn Winter; sister, Kristy Hisey and husband, Steve; and their children, Brittany and Blake Hisey; sister, Bethany Mathis; sister-in-law, Jennifer Hoyland, and her children, Austin and Matthew Bullington; brother-in-law, Jeff Hoyland and wife, Tamara, and their children, Chad Wasden, and Daniel Barnes; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Pat Hoyland. A memorial service will take place 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 W. Platt St., Tampa, FL 33606.
