MICHAEL SCOTT CARLIN Michael Scott Carlin, 86, of Spanish Lakes Country Club Village, Ft. Pierce, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 with his wife by his side at Treasure Coast Hospice, Ft. Pierce. He was born July 20, 1927 in Lennextown, Scotland and had been a resident of Spanish Lakes Country Club Village for 5 years. Before moving to Spanish Lakes he was a resident of the 4 county area for 23 years. Michael worked as an engineer for 20 years sailing with the Norwegian Merchant Ships. Michael was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Vero Beach; he was a member of the Elks Lodge #1520 of Ft. Pierce, FL and the Space Coast Viking Lodge Sons of Norway. He was a member of the Widows Son Masonic Lodge in Kingston, NY. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janet Carlin of Ft. Pierce, FL; step-daughter, Diane Connelly of Sebastian, FL; step-son, Glenn Larssen of Texas; 2 brothers, David Carlin of Lennextown, Scotland and James Carlin of London, England; sister, Janet O'Sullivan of Buffalo, NY; 1 granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife of 32 years Ruby and brother Thomas Carlin. A Memorial Service will be at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Friday, June 6 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Shelly Satran officiating. Donations may be made to the VNA of Indian River County, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Arrangements are under the direction of the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
