Joella Kayes, 79, died Nov. 16, 2012, at Treasure Coast Hospice. She was born in Rochester, N.Y., and was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 40 years, coming from Buffalo, N.Y. She was the owner of Paperback Place Bookstore in Vero Beach. Survivors include her son, David Kayes of North Carolina, daughter, Jennifer Kayes of Palm Bay, 2 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981. Services: A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 24, 2012, at Yates Funeral Home, Fort Pierce chapel.
