B.P. "PAT" LONGINO was born April 30, 1925. Pat grew up in College Park, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia. He entered the Army during WWII. Upon returning home from the war he reentered the University of Georgia. He was in the insurance business for 40 years and retired as a Vice president and CEO of Stop Inc. He was married to Ruth Richards for 53 years and had 4 children. He was active in the State of Florida Association of Independent Insurance Agents, serving a term as Director. He was also active in the St Lucie County Association of Independent Insurance Agents and served 2 terms as President. He belonged to both the Optimist and Kiwanis Clubs. He was instrumental in bringing the Soap Box Derby races to Fort Pierce as well as the building of Lawnwood Stadium. He loved photography, camping and Nascar racing. He traveled the country in his motor home visiting his children and grandchildren in North Carolina, Texas and Tennessee. He also traveled to many Nascar races. He is survived by sons, Edward P. (Judy) Longino of Troutman, North Carolina, Dana A. (Kim) Longino of Littlefield, Texas; daughters, Bonnie Starling of Fort Pierce, Florida, Helen L. Longino of Charleston, Tennessee; brother, James H. (Bobbi) Longino of College Park, Georgia; sister, Helen Longino Dunwoody of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren, Shawn (Summer) Miller, Eleese (Matthew) Meschery, Wendy (Mark) Vinton, Brooke Blair, Brittany (Steven) Smith, Justin Longino, Billy (Sarah) Starling, DJ Starling & 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers; George F. Longino II, Ira T. Longino, and wife, Ruth Longino. As a long time resident of Club Drive I was saddened to hear of Pat's passing. My wife and I spent a lot of pleasureable hours in the company of Pat and Ruth. I'm losing a lot of my UGA BULLDOG friends.
