HAYDE N MATHE WS Hayden Mathews, age 82, of Vero Beach, FL and Stamford, CT died on December 27, 2012 in Chevy Chase, MD. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Elizabeth (Betsy) Mathews. He was the devoted father of Alexander Mathews and his wife Katie, Adam Mathews and his wife Cherie, and Betsy Prezioso and her husband Giovanni, and grandfather of Ashley and Adam Mathews and Emily, Julia and Alexander Prezioso. Born October 30, 1930 in Rutherford, NJ, he was the son of the late Irvine R.O. Mathews and Beula Hayden Mathews. He was predeceased by his brother George Duncan Mathews. Mr. Mathews is remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father and grandfather and as an accomplished and passionate outdoorsman . He was a member of the Moorings Club of Vero Beach, FL, the Field Club of Greenwich, CT, the Williams Club of NYC and the Bald Peak Colony Club of Melvin Village, NH. He was a graduate of the Choate School ('49) and Rutgers University ('53). Loved by all who knew him, Hayden was a constant, kind and loyal family member and friend. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5th at 11 AM at the Round Hill Community Church, 395 Round Hill Road, Greenwich CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenwich Hospital, 35 River Road, Cos Cob, CT 06830. Paid Obituary
