Angelo Chessari, age 90, passed away on Monday April 7, 2014 at his Port St. Lucie home. Angelo, aka "Hoody", was born January 25, 1924 to Salvatore and Rosa (Pluchino) Chessari in the Bronx, NY. Angelo served in the U.S. Army during WWII
in Southeast Asia along the Burma Road. After returning to NY, he became an accomplished musician, leading his band while playing the bass fiddle. Angelo also owned and operated Hoody's Hero Shop on Morris Ave. in the Bronx. His sandwiches drew lines around the block. Since relocating to FL in 1981, Hoody continued serving the community with his most recent endeavor, working at the PGA Golf Club in St. Lucie West. Angelo was a devoted husband of 19 years to Marie Ludovico, a loving father to daughters Rosalyn Morello, Laura Frankel and Linda Lotwich, step father to Margaret Jalette and John Lacush, and a caring grandfather, great grandfather, and step-grandfather. He will be remembered by his 2 younger sisters, Connie Gagliardi and Sadie Poggioli, and his extended family and many dear friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10th from 4-7 pm at Yates Funeral Home, 7951 S. US Highway 1, Port St.Lucie. A Mass will be held on Friday, April 11th at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 2330 SE Mariposa Ave, Port St. Lucie 34953.
