BESS RUSSAKIS HAYES On November 15, 2012, Bess Russakis Hayes, 81 of St Lucie Village, Fort Pierce, Florida lost her long struggle with breast cancer. Bess was born on April 21, 1931 in Detroit MI, daughter of Anthony and Bertha Russakis and was a life long resident of Fort Pierce. Bess was an artist who enjoyed painting pictures of the ocean, landscapes and taught others as well. Bess was involved in the commercial fishing industry with her beloved husband of 50 years, Gene Hayes. And so it was with a whisper in her ear and a tug on her hand that the love of her life, Gene came to take her home with him to Heaven. She was preceded in death by her loving husband T. Gene Hayes in 2001, son Terrell Gene Hayes Jr in 1972, her father and mother and two brothers Johnie and Ernie Russakis. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Hayes and Terrie Hayes Selph, Terrie's husband Raymond Selph Jr.; Three grandchildren Terrell Selph and wife Jennifer Traynor, Sharon Selph Payne and husband Joe Payne, Jason Selph and wife Christania Selph; Six great grandchildren, Tanner and Jordan Selph, Preston and Sierrah Payne, Kylee and Sera Selph. Her life was filled with her love for her family and the sea. Please come and join us on November 16, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7: 00 pm at Yates Funeral Home (Fort Pierce) for visitation and a celebration of Bess's life. Funeral services will be at St .Andrews Episcopal Church on November 17, 2012 at 10:00 am with grave side services at Hillcrest Memorial Garden. A reception to follow at St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
