GWENDOLYN JUNE GARRISON (Blum) of Dublin, Ohio died 7/6/13 at Dublin Methodist Hospital. She was 88 years old. Gwen was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Floyd and Ethel Blum (Pobst). She was a graduate of Parma Schaaf High School, attended Otterbein College (where she was homecoming queen), then 2 years of nurse's training at Frances Payne Bolton. She served as a cadet nurse for 2 years. She was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oakwood, Ohio and a former president of the Montgomery County Medical Auxiliary. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband George Harvey Garrison, M.D. and by her first grandson, Peter Howley. She is survived by her sister Melva Jane Skrant of Medina, her brother Floyd Blum of Cocoa, Florida, three children David (Mary Jane) Garrison, Tom (Sandi) Garrison, and Nancy (Bob) Howley. Grandchildren are Andrew (Jessica) Howley, Forrest Garrison, Amy Howley, Margaret (Ben) Walter, and Lindsey (Mladen) Krstic. Great-grandchildren are Mateja and Emilija Krstic, and Owen Howley. Gwen had many interests including reading, genealogy and traveling with her husband in search of rare minerals. She was a scout leader, taught her children how to cook, swim and become good citizens, friends and parents. She loved crosswords, music, nature and gardening. She edited a cookbook produced by the Medical Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandmom and great-grandmom and will be greatly missed. Gwen will be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date. The family would like to thank the staff at Dublin Retirement Village and the Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio, would be appreciated. Paid Obituary
